About

A canvas lodge built for conservation.

ERP Canvas Lodge is a small, fully inclusive tented safari camp set within the Melorane ERP Game Reserve in South Africa's North West Province. This website is the lodge's home online: it introduces the reserve, describes the tents and the boma where meals are shared, lists the guided activities available to guests, and gives travellers a direct way to enquire about a stay with our concierge.

The lodge is for travellers who want the bush without the crowds: couples, families, small groups of friends, photographers and anyone who cares about where their travel money goes. Stays are private and personal; the camp hosts only a handful of guests at a time, and every activity, from rhino tracking with the Anti-Poaching Unit to sundowners and stargazing, is guided by people who live and work on the reserve.

ERP Canvas Lodge is built and operated by ERP (Elephants, Rhinos & People), a non-profit conservation organisation, together with ERP Mercantile, its trading arm. One hundred percent of the lodge's trading surplus is returned to conservation at Melorane: funding rangers, anti-poaching operations, wildlife monitoring and community programmes with the neighbouring Barokologadi community, who co-own the land. When you stay with us, your visit becomes part of the reserve's protection.
